11.07.2020 - THE 3 YEAR RESTORATION OF THE NARKOMFIN BUILDING IS COMPLETE One of the most iconic examples of constructivism in Moscow had been in ruins for decades. Built in the late 1920s for the People's Commissariat of Finance personnel, it became a building-manifesto of the new style. The restoration of the seven-story building, which stands close to Novinsky Boulevard, began in April 2017 and was undertaken by the architect Alexey Ginzburg, the grandson of Moisey Ginzburg - the author of the project.
20.04.2020 - Moscow monuments of Avant-garde architecture: restoration and adaptation. Constructivism, well known and admired by many foreign researchers, gradually starts to come back to Russian architectural discourse. Following numerous publications and exhibitions Moscow citizens as well as tourist across the country began to take interest in the architectural heritage of the epoch, where Russian architects, painters, writers and cinematographers laid foundation for contemporary mediums of art and made major contribution to the world culture of the 20th century.
19.12.2019 - Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage nominated Ginzburg Architects collective in “Best restoration and adaptation to modern use” category.
RESTORATION WORKS FOR THE NARKOMFIN LAUNDRY HOUSE HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL HERITAGE
06.08.2019 - Works on preservation and adaptation of the listed Narkomfin Laundry House, carried out in accordance with Ginzburg Architects restoration project, have been successfully accepted by the Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage.
05.08.2019 - On the 30th of July, the first qualifying stage of the Open International Competition for the development of a masterplan for the “Derbent City” district, Republic of Dagestan, has been completed. The jury, chaired by the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasilyev, determined three finalists who will present their own design of the masterplan and the concept of the city embankment development – consortiums, which include Russian and foreign experts. Ginzburg Architects takes part in a competition in association with the Institute of the General Plan of Moscow and “Studio Kamil Tsuntaev” LLC. 05.08.2019 - “Russia 1” channel has released a TV report “The legendary Narkomfin House will once again become residential.” Restoration and adaptation projects of the avant-garde architecture monument were developed by Ginzburg Architects.
